(1) The Permanent Secretary shall maintain a record of fishing vessels using ports in Fiji.
(2) The record maintained under subregulation (1) shall include the following information—
  • (a)name of fishing vessel, registration number, previous names, if known, and port of registry;
  • (b)name and address of owner or owners;
  • (c)name and nationality of master;
  • (d)previous flag, if any;
  • (e)International Radio Call Sign;
  • (f)vessel communication types and numbers (INMARSAT A, B, C and D numbers and satellite telephone number);
  • (g)colour photograph of vessel;
  • (h)location and date of vessel manufacture;
  • (i)type of vessel;
  • (j)normal crew complement;
  • (k)type of fishing method or methods;
  • (l)length overall and length between the perpendiculars;
  • (m)moulded depth;
  • (n)beam;
  • (o)gross register tonnage;
  • (p)power of main engine or engines;
  • (q)the nature of the authorisation to fish granted by Fiji or any other State;
  • (r)carrying capacity, including freezer type, capacity and number and fish hold capacity;
  • (s)the fishing and related activities of the vessel;
  • (t)record of compliance with any obligations arising out of measures adopted by relevant regional or sub-regional fisheries management organisations;
  • (u)frequency and duration of the use of port and the services used;
  • (v)record of port inspections in Fiji or elsewhere; and
  • (w)any further information necessary in order to fulfil any obligations arising out of measures adopted by relevant regional or sub-regional fisheries management organisations.
