(2) All ships shall comply with the provisions of the Marine (Ballast Water Management) Regulations 2014 for discharge of ballast water.
(1) Ballast water exchange with marine water may be carried out by a foreign ship within Fiji waters or Fiji ship engaged in international voyage or mobile offshore installation, at least 200 nautical miles from the nearest land and in water at least 200 metres in depth or where this is not possible, then at least 50 nautical miles from shore in water at least 200 metres in depth.
